Underwater sensing has always been limited by one thing “POWER”. Batteries run down, and there’s no practical way to recharge equipment on the seafloor. Gen6’s microbial fuel cell technology, transitioned from U.S. Navy research under our CRADA, draws continuous energy directly from marine sediment - enabling persistent, long-duration operation without battery swaps or external power. The result is a durable energy source for underwater sensors in both defense and commercial marine applications.

Persistent seafloor power is the first layer of a larger vision. Today, robust infrastructure already connects the surface to space - but the undersea and surface-maritime domains remain fragmented, power-starved, and hard to observe. Gen6’s direction is to bridge that gap: connecting the seafloor-to-surface domain with the surface-to-space infrastructure already in place, so operators gain a continuous, real-time picture from the ocean floor to orbit. We build that picture layer by layer.
